ICAEW is a world leading professional membership organisation that promotes, develops and supports over 142,000 chartered accountants worldwide. We provide qualifications and professional development, share our knowledge, insight and technical expertise, and protect the quality and integrity of the accountancy and finance profession.
As leaders in accountancy, finance and business our members have the knowledge, skills and commitment to maintain the highest professional standards and integrity. Together we contribute to the success of individuals, organisations, communities and economies around the world.
The ACA qualification is made up of three levels, the Certificate, Professional and Advanced Levels, all of which are linked to your technical work experience. Click on the links below to find out more about the modules examined at each level.
There are three entry routes:
Graduates may register directly onto the ACA qualification and those with a relevant degree may be able to claim exemptions from some or all of the Certificate level modules. You can sit any combination of Certificate or Professional level modules, but we advise students to follow one of our recommended pathways.
School leavers should complete the CFAB qualification (which comprises the six Certificate level modules). All six exams must be passed before you can progress onto the professional level of the ACA qualification.
AAT students who have completed Level 4 of the qualification may claim exemptions from some of the Certificate level subjects (the number of exemptions depends on which optional papers have been completed).
